Each of the 8 players starts with $125,000 in casino chips (grand chip total of $1,000,000 - more than 10 times the "actual" $80,000 purse)
♣
♣ Mounted "Leader Board" rack with 4 slots for chips shows dollar amount each player has as match progresses and also when a match ends. ♣ ♣ Tournament begins with 2 Brackets consisting of 4 players to each Bracket. Brackets are played in a modified "Ring Game" format. The Finals will be 1 bracket of the top 4 players. ♣ ♣ Prior to event, players in each bracket will draw to determine breaking order. Bracket designations will be made prior to the event and introduced to players during Players Meeting. ♣ ♣ Alternate break in all rounds. The order of the break changes in every round with the #2 player becoming the breaker and the #1 player becoming #4. Each player is assured of a break every 4 games. If a player misses a shot, the incoming player receives cue ball in hand. The 9 ball does not count on the break. ♣ ♣ Each match consists of 12-20 games, with 4 games to a round. Each game in a round is worth a certain dollar/chip amount. Game values increase every round. Each bracket plays to determine the chipleader/high money winners. ♣ ♣ Every game has a dollar amount assigned to it. Each player must "POST" that amount. The winner of the game receives that amount in chips from each of the other 3 players in his bracket. ♣ ♣ NO Safety shots or pushouts allowed. ♣ ♣ A player with less than or equal to the dollar amount required for a game must go "All-IN!" whether he is breaking or not. If he does not win that game, he must pay his remaining chips to the winner and he is eliminated from the tournament. ♣ ♣ The top 2 chipleaders/money winners from the starting brackets will advance to the Finals bracket. Players carry forward their chip winnings. Play will continue until only 2 players remain in the bracket. If 3 players (or 2 players if only 3 are left) are eliminated at once, the player with the most chips before the game began will advance as a WILDCARD player. In the event of a tie, the player who has won the most games will advance as the WILDCARD player. In either case, the WILDCARD player will be given $100,000 to enter the Finals Bracket with. If there is a tie in both situations, a Sudden Death game will be played. ♣ ♣ Dollar/chip value of each round escalates as match progresses. See format/rules to see dollar amount of each round in each match. ♣ |
